This Code of Ethics protects the integrity and credibility of CCI’s mission to advance cyber intelligence as a trusted and objective discipline. By adhering to these principles, we reinforce ethical intelligence practices, strengthen trust in the field, and ensure that our work serves the broader cybersecurity community responsibly.
1. Integrity & Ethical Responsibility
Perform all professional activities in accordance with applicable laws and the highest ethical standards.
Conduct cyber intelligence activities in a lawful, responsible, and ethical manner.
Reject unethical uses of cyber intelligence, including unauthorized surveillance, offensive cyber operations, or activities that undermine security and trust.
Fulfill all professional responsibilities with honesty, diligence, and accuracy.
2. Transparency & Independence
Maintain and affirm CCI’s objectivity and independence in all activities.
Reject external pressures from industry, government, or other entities that could compromise CCI’s mission.
Ensure that all research, recommendations, and contributions to the Cyber Intelligence Framework (CIF) are unbiased, factual, and transparent.
Communicate openly and honestly, ensuring clarity and accountability in all professional interactions.
3. Open Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
Promote the adoption and adherence to community-driven standards, procedures, and controls for cyber intelligence.
Contribute to the development of open, accessible, and vendor-neutral cyber intelligence frameworks.
Encourage fact-based discussions and professional engagement in cyber intelligence development.
Protect the integrity and accuracy of cyber intelligence research and reporting.
4. Confidentiality & Professionalism
Maintain appropriate confidentiality of proprietary, classified, or sensitive information encountered in professional activities.
Avoid any actions that might constitute a conflict of interest or otherwise harm the reputation of CCI, the cybersecurity profession, or affiliated organizations.
Uphold professional conduct by avoiding misrepresentation, defamation, or discrediting the work of colleagues, clients, or organizations.
5. Responsibility & Ethical Use of Cyber Intelligence
Provide knowledge, frameworks, and tools freely and openly whenever possible, ensuring cyber intelligence remains a shared and evolving field.
Use cyber intelligence only for defensive and protective purposes, rejecting any unethical applications.
Ensure that cyber intelligence practices support security, stability, and public trust.
